Daughter of Jay K. Secor and first wife of Duane Stranahan Sr. She is remembered for her uniquely entrepreneurial philanthropy, her love of nature, and respect for the individual.

She and her husband created the Needmor Fund to carry on the Secor and Stranahan families tradition of community stewardship.  She developed the Secor Fund, an endowment managed by the Toledo Area Community Foundation. In 1988, she founded the 577 Foundation in Perrysburg to protect her estate from future development. It is a place where people can come to enjoy nature, art, crafts and gardening.
