Walter Folger Brown

U.S. Postmaster General
Walter Brown, a local Republican, was one of the most durable politicians of the twentieth century, serving three presidents and helping to elect several others. He served as chairman of the Joint Congressional Reorganization Committee under Harding and as Postmaster General under Herbert Hoover.
He was involved in the Air Mail Fiasco, a political scandal involving the awarding of contracts to certain airlines to carry airmail. For more on this, click here.
