William Spooner Walbridge

(1854-1935)

Glass Pioneer

Brother-in-law of E.D. Libbey, came to Toledo from Boston in 1898. Walbridge became treasurer of The Toledo Glass Co., an infant firm destined to be the forerunner of the greatest glass blowing firm in the world.

He was a pioneer in glass development and the last surviving of the original official family of the Owens Bottle Machine Company and The Toledo Glass Company.  He  was a philanthropist and involved in local banking and financial firms.
